Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s wife Mama Ida Odinga has apologised to the Kalenjin community on behalf of her husband saying they forgive and support him in the 2013 elections.
Ida urged Eldoret North member of Parliament William Ruto to join forces with ODM to secure victory in elections.
“Let us come together as we did in 2007, we were headed in the right direction but could not make it due to circumstances beyond our control. If the Premier has wronged you, I am here to apologise on his behalf,’ Ida said.
She has planned a tour of all the counties to personally meet the people and popularise ODM and Raila's candidature in order to make sure he is the legitimate tenant of State House.
Ida also urged the Kalenjin women to support the dialogue between Raila and Ruto, saying the Kalenjin community would benefit more if the talks bear fruit.
In other news Roads Minister Franklin Bett also urged Ruto to work hand in hand in the coming elections if he wants to be the president of Kenya when Raila leaves in 2017.
"Ruto should work together with Raila Odinga if he wants to ever lead this country. His future is secure in ODM as opposed to the G7. The ODM family has repeatedly said that they welcome him to work together with the party to ensure victory in 2013," Bett Said.
