BISHOP WANJIRU DEMANDS APOLOGY FROM NDOLO

Starehe MP and Nairobi governor hopeful Margaret Wanjiru on Sunday demanded an apology from former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo after the two differed in the presence of Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Ndolo was addressing the PM's rally in Kibera.

Ndolos attempts to calm a section of the crowd who were rowdy sparked outrage from Margaret Wanjiru and the discord in the Cord coalition came out open.

“Nyinyi vijana wa Bishop Margaret Wanjiru nyamazeni! (you youth supporters of Bishop Margaret Wanjiru keep quiet),” Ndolo told the crowd amid protest and anger from the Starehe MP.

“Eti nini? Wao sio wangu (What are you saying? They are not mine)," said Wanjiru.

"Ndolo usinileteee. (Ndolo don’t joke with me),” Wanjiru told Ndolo and nearly cut him short in his speech

"Ndolo usinileteee. (Ndolo don’t joke with me),” Wanjiru told Ndolo and nearly cut him short in his speech.
Despite attempts from the crowd to shout down Ndolo and force him to apologise to Wanjiru, Prime minister Raila Odinga ignored the calls and asked Ndolo to go on with his speech.
But this did not deter an angry Wanjiru from pointing a finger at Ndolo and saying that Ndolo had disrespected her. Ndolo went on with his speech as Wanjiru kept on pointing a finger at him.
The former Makadara MP, mayor George Aladwa and Sports minister Ababu Namwamba who were present, are supporters of Evans Kidero, who wants to clinch the governorship on an ODM ticket.
During the rally there were several sideshows pitting supporters of Evans Kidero and Margaret Wanjiru as they jostled in outdoing each other on the podium.
Mayor Aladwa said Nairobi needs a governor who is loyal to Prime Minister Raila Odinga and that Kidero was loyal. However, in a counter attack, Wanjiru said she has been loyal to Odinga since the times of LDP, ODM Kenya and now ODM.
“If its loyalty, I am the most loyal to the Prime Minister Raila Odinga. I deserve to be the Nairobi governor,” Wanjiru told the crowd.
As she ended her speech, Ababu Namwamba and Aladwa whispered to each other and Aladwa allegedly told Ababu that he should go and downplay what Wanjiru had said.
He allegedly said Wanjiru seemed to have scored highly by dismissing their claims that she is not loyal to Raila. But Ababu did not speak anything about the issue again.
