JUBILEE AND CORD MANIFESTOS ARE UNREALISTIC MAY LEAD TO HYPER INFLATION

Anything is possible irrespective of whether each side (CORD and Jubilee) bashes each other or not. Now what Kenyan's need to see is how both CORD and Jubilee Coalitions will raise moneys to facilitate their manifestos. Kenyans are not naive, we know how much the tax-man collects annually, We also know how much goes to finance the recurrent budget, We have a rough ideal of the total amount that is needed to finance the activities of a maximum of 24 ministries, We also have a rough idea of the total projected amount that is needed to finance the full implementation of the constitution by 2017 and we also know the total average deficit that Kenya government has to deal with annually up to 2017. The two top cop coalitions should start by explaining to Kenyans how they will raise the extra cash given that the Kenya government runs on budget deficit year in, year out. When a deal is too good, citizens should think twice. Citizens have a responsibility to interrogate both Coalitions about how they will generate revenue to finance their ideal manifestos. If we fail to interrogate now, when the government is formed by either of the two coalitions (CORD or Jubilee), inflation will sky-rocket. This is because, when government increases its spending to meet its unrealistic manifesto, inflation has to set in. In this case, inflation will occurs because government will have to borrow heavily both locally and abroad. This aspect will push interest rate high thereby affecting local and international trade. When interest rates go up, it will also be hard for local businessmen to borrow for the purposes of starting or expanding their business. Generally, if Kenyans refuse to interrogate these out of the world manifestos, they should then be prepared to experience what Economist call Cost Push Inflation. Do not say i never told you!
