ABABU EXED FROM CHUNGWA ODM

ABABU NAMWAMBA AXED FROM ODM. Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, has axed Budalang’i MP, Ababu Namwamba, from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)’s party line up expected to be unveiled next month. The Kenyan DAILY POST has established that Namwamba was left out the ODM party line up due to his perceived opposition to Saba Saba and the referendum calls even though he insists his loyalty to the party is intact. Raila’s new party line up consists of Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, as the Deputy Party Leader, Wycliffe Oparaya as co-Deputy Party Leader, Paul Otuoma as Chairman, Otieno Kajwang as Vice Chairman, Prof Anyang Nyong’o as Secretary General and Dr Agnes Zani as Deputy Secretary General. Speaking to journalists on Saturday, Namwamba said although he was not aware of Prof Nyong’o’s proposed reinstatement as Secretary-General, he was not opposed to it on a temporary basis while the party’s top brass works a way out of the leadership crisis. “We have been having top-level consultations on this matter. We had a retreat in Mombasa where I was asked, alongside Dr Agnes Zani, to create room for compromise. We believe that this matter will be resolved so that our party can stand again,” Namwamba said. Namwamba also denied rumours that he is not loyal to ODM saying he viciously supports the party’s programmes and even referendum.
